FAQs
What does VINC grow?
VINC grows plants locally indigenous to the north, east and west of Melbourne. We grow over 220 species of trees, shrubs, grasses and wildflowers. Most of our plants are grown as tubestock for the revegetation industry.
What is an indigenous plant?
Indigenous plants are plants that have grown in our local area for tens of thousands of years or longer. These plants have evolved and adapted to our local climate and soils. While indigenous plants come from local areas, "native" plants are from anywhere in Australia.
Why don’t you have a certain plant in stock although you grow it?
As we grow wild plants, seed is not always available and germination can be unpredictable. The majority of our plants are available in mid Autumn, but if you are after a specific plant you can always order the plants in advance. As we primarily grow for revegetation, many of our plants are pre-ordered in Spring for supply the following Autumn and Winter.
Do you grow and sell large quantities of plants?
Yes. We grow over 400,000 plants per year and specialise in growing for revegetation and small - medium landscaping works. Over 200,000 are grown to pre-order by councils and other land managers, however we do grow many plants on speculation and have tens of thousands of plants in stock at any given time.
Do you sell larger plants?
We do sell a limited range of plants in 140mm pots, however we are primarily a tubestock nursery catering for the revegetation industry. If you are after larger plants for an upcoming project we may be able to grow our plants in larger formats, however this will need to be prearranged.
Do you sell seed of native plants?
The majority of our seed is collected from remnant bushland and we do not collect more than we require for our own propagation. Please see Our Services for more information on sourcing seed.
